For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and
you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to
visit me.
Matthew 25: 35 - 36
But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame,
the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be
repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
Luke 14: 13 - 14
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but
has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear
children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and
in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth,
and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever
our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts,
and he knows everything.
